Tasty Infused Water Recipes To Try Right Now

Water is an amazing and essential addition to our daily diets. To say that water is tasty is debatable, especially if your water is “hard,” or unfiltered. The culprit of funky-tasting water is most likely the chlorine, hard minerals, and impurities in your supply.

Our water supply goes through a complex filtration system via our city. BUT, it leaves behind many chemicals, impurities, and undesired hard minerals. Bitter-tasting tap water is often a result of high concentrations of total dissolved solids (TDS). Water with high concentrations of TDS is called hard water. About 85% of American homes have hard water that greatly affects the quality and taste.

What Can You Do?

How Do You Infuse Water?

First, let’s talk about how to infuse your filtered water. The great part about infused water is that it is cheap and extremely easy! All you need is cold water and the produce of your choice. More “advanced” recipes may require a saucepan.

You’ll start by choosing what flavor you’d like to enjoy, buy the products required, and wash and chop the ingredients. The more produce you add, the more intense the flavor! The flavor also depends on how long you let it soak. Infusing can take place at room temperature, but to avoid bacteria growth you can place it in the fridge before you hit the two-hour mark.

Easy and Tasty Infused-Water Recipes

All recipes below can be modified to suit your palette. You can increase or decrease the amount of each product you place in your water. Or, add your favorite berries, herbs, and/or vegetables to put your spin on things!

Infused Water for Digestion and Detoxification

  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1-2 lemon(s), sliced
  • 5-10 mint leaves
  • 12 cups of cold, filtered water

This detox water is loaded with vitamin C (lemon) and vitamin A (mint). Both powerful antioxidants. The lemon interacts with enzymes to stimulate gastric juices while cleansing the arteries and blood. It also helps the liver produce more enzymes and release toxins. Lemon is also known to reduce inflammation, increase mineral absorption, and improve digestion.

Infused Water for Stress Relief

  • 1-3 few drops of lavender essential oil (ensure it is a brand that is safe for consumption)
  • 1 cup of raw honey
  • lemon juice (6 lemons)
  • 12 cups of cold, filtered water

Mix your ingredients in a saucepan, cool, add water and honey to taste. Cover and leave for an hour, then ice and enjoy!

Lavender has many health benefits and it is the main essential oil known for stress relief and calming the senses. Many people use the scent alone to decompress. Combined with lemon it becomes a healthy and tasty treat.

Infused Water for a Flat Belly

Let me start by saying this taste is NOT for everyone. It is also more of a “shot,” so it goes down quickly. BUT, it is extremely powerful in aiding weight loss, bloating, immunity, gut health, reducing high cholesterol, assisting in blood glucose/sugar levels, and so much more.

  • 1 tbsp raw apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (1-2 wedges)
  • 1/4 tbsp ginger
  • 1 tbsp raw honey
  • A dash of cayenne pepper

Mix these ingredients in a small jar and add an ounce of warm filtered water. Drink all at once in the morning on an empty stomach.

Infused Water for Immune Support

  • 1 cup of sliced strawberries
  • 3-5 mint leaves
  • 3 cups of ice
  • filtered water

Thinly slice your fruit. Then place strawberries, lime, and mint leaves into a bottle or pitcher. Place the ice on top and fill with water. Let the mixture infuse in the fridge for 3-4 hours before serving.

Strawberries protect your heart, increase HDL (good) cholesterol, lower your blood pressure, and guard against cancer. They are packed with vitamins, fiber, and particularly high levels of antioxidants known as polyphenols. Limes contain vitamin C and antioxidants which fight infections and reduce inflammation. Mint is also extremely high in nutrients and supports gut health.

Infused Water for Energy

  • 2 slices of lemon
  • Blackberries
  • Blueberries
  • Sliced strawberries
  • Sliced cucumber
  • Sliced orange
  • Filtered water and ice

Combine all ingredients and let sit for 2 hours.

Cucumbers offer a nutritional and tasty component. Strawberries are an amazing energy booster. Orange adds sweetness and a healthy dose of vitamin C for immunity. Lemon has properties that increase energy and metabolism.
